- Abstract
- Abstract : Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted, recurrent and incurable viral disease. Maternal infection if first trimester will create fetal injury or even pregnancy wastage whereas infection in second or third trimester will cause threatened premature labor. An estimated 5% of reproductive age women have clinical evident disease, whereas 25-30% have subclinical infection. The majority of newborn acquires the infection during delivery.
