Abstract
Abstract : This work describes the current and proposed legislation about food safety programme in New Zealand and it explains the importance of introducing and implementing the food safety programme among the food service and the difficulty encountered during its reformulation. The objective of this article is through the New Zealand experience on food legislation, surveillance, monitoring and also through international experience, further understand the importance of implementing food safety programme in health care system. The importance for nutritionists and others professional to provide influence on the negotiation processes with the government and its agent in order to obtain a better health care system will also be discussed.
