The Xianan Incident in 1936 caused the cooperation between the KMT (Kuo Min Tang) and the CPC (Communist Party of China). The political orientation of the Portuguese Macao (Macau) Government shifted during and after the Sino-Japanese War, since a close relation between Portuguese and Japanese during the war and the Sino-Portuguese relations recovered after the war. The legislations from the Portuguese Macao administration showed that they were trying to manage the Chinese education in Macao since they legislated the Portaria n.° 300 in 1914. However, most of the Chinese schools in Macao followed the laws and regulations from the Macao colonial government. And this provided a non-hegemonic education environment to the parties' operations of the KMT and the CPC in Macao. The KMT and CPC were trying to manipulate the Chinese education in Macao through controlled The Chinese Educators' Association of Macau. The political transformation in the mainland in 1949 and the establishment of the PRC (People's Republic of China), which deeply influence on the Macao education. The political identity of the representative association The Chinese Educators' Association of Macau shifted from the KMT to the CPC in 1949.
