SNH48 Group is a female youth idol production, which was established in 2012 and was originally the sister group of AKB48 in Japan. By employing the concept of “idols you can meet”, SNH48 creates a wonderful “fantasy” for fans to have intimate interactions and connections with idols. Besides, because of the development of new media and internet technology, these fans are not isolated individuals but comprise an established, integrated and powerful fandom group. Fan culture and fandom phenomenon is now well known by people in modern China, and this research is based on the observations of daily behaviors and thoughts of fans and tries to understand what those fans derive from their involvement in the fan community, how their membership in the community affects their own fan identity, and how they get pleasure from the fan identity.
