The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of China’s energy development and energy security strategy on Sino-US relations. Sino-US relations have come to a cross-road due to China’s unforeseen and unexpected rapid development. With the upgrade of the structural contradictions and the intensification of competition between the two countries, energy is now playing an increasing role in the bilateral relations of the two countries. There are between the two countries both unavoidable conflicts of interests as well as obvious common interests which are to maintain the stability of the international oil market and oil price. The paper is intended to prove that China and the US won’t definitely go to war as they could reach mutual understanding, share interests and prevent the upgrade of conflict of interests to crisis level even when their energy interests contradict.

本論文的目的是探討中國能源發展和能源安全戰略對當今中美關係的影響。 中美關係由於中國超出預期的發展已經處在了一個十字路口。隨著兩國結構性矛盾升級，競爭加劇，能源在兩國關係中的地位也明顯上升。兩國在能源領域既有無法回避的利益衝突，也有顯而易見的共同利益：維護能源市場和石油價格的穩定。本文將證明中美兩國在能源領域面對嚴重利益衝突時能夠達成一定諒解，分享利益，避免利益衝突上升為國家關係危機，中美之間並非必有一戰。
