With the development of social media, everyone is making it easier to build up their own business nowadays. Due to the reason of the scarcity of land in Macau and the economic growth in the last decade, the rent has increased and has become a barrier for youngsters who would like to start a business, yet at the same time, Macau is small enough and it easy to bring in the Electronic Word of Mouth (eWoM). Therefore, the social media provide a low-cost channel for promotion. Among all of the popular social media platforms, this study will focus on the Facebook Fan Page, and discuss how a small online local cake shop owner used Facebook Page features for online promotion from zero to accumulate a group of regular customers within one year. The result is mainly generated from an interview with the cake shop owner and observation analysis of the effectiveness of eWoM via the ‘like’ and comments. This study found that the 'like' and comment features on Facebook Fan Page can effectively help the new online cake shop to promote at low cost. The number of 'like' and positive comments can enhance the popularity and orders of the online cake shop yet it only applies when the page owner posts the new product frequently. The Facebook Fan Page promotion also helps to cultivate a community of cake lovers.
