Title

Computational investigation of nanofluids for heat transfer enhancement in rectangular microchannels flow

English Abstract

Computational Investigation of Nanofluid for Heat Transfer Enhancement in Rectangular Microchannels Flow by Teng Kai Kei Thesis Supervisor: Associate Professor Sin Vai Kuong Electromechanical Engineering In this thesis, an existing forced convection of nanofluid in micro channel experiment is simulated. The various volume fractions of nano sized TiO2 particles and various setting were simulated and compared with the experiment data. Furthermore, the nanofluid of temperature trends, cooling efficiency trends, convective heat transfer coefficient trends and Nusselt number trends were studied. Duo to the limited amounts of sensor experiment sensing, foundation equation cannot be used in experiment. In this thesis the foundation equation was used and compared with experimental equation.
