Macau has a very united media market. There are 17 daily newspaper published in this 600,000 population sity. Among them, there are three published in English: Macau Post Daily. Macau Business Daily, and Macau Daily Times. This study takes a mixed-method approach to investigate the current conditions of these English newspapers in Macau to understand their major functions and their income souce. Content analysis of the advertisements of these three newspapers finds that local Macau businesses are the primary advertisers in the English newspaper. Revenues generated from the casino business follow as the and major advertisers. Professionals, business people, students, and white-collar workers are the main readers of these three English newspapers. From readers perspective, it is common to think that English newspapers are for English speaking community rather than the Chinese community or the Portuguese community. Gender, occupation, social status and education are of significance indicating people's social function satisfaction of English newspapers in Macau. However, from the senders' perspective, there is no outstanding evidence showing that English newspapers in Macau are identifying the English speaking community.
