Show / Hidden
How to create the innovative quality of TV programs plays a key role at the age of reality shows since their attractiveness has dwindled down, even disappeared. New media, represented by social media and mobile media, with its characteristics of mobility, interactivity, universality, grassroots, etc., has attracted attention of TV program producers. The use of new media, especially the SNS and mobile phone applications is increasingly integrated into the TV programs. It is a big challenge for TV program producers in regard to the issue of how to explore the potential of new media, integrate with traditional programs and develop new kinds of TV shows. This paper attempts to introduce and analyze a new style of applying mobile media into TV reality shows through the case study of Macao Open Mic. It is expected to provide some new ideas about how to integrate the new media and TV reality shows in response to the dilemma of homogeneity of TV reality shows in mainland China.
