Nowadays, corruption phenomenon is common around the world. It is not only a political concern, but also is discussed in legal arena and social life. People concern a lot about it. To some extent, it may hinder the economic growth, destroy the society. Faced with serious corruption, states have taken actions to improve domestic regimes to fight against it. Due to different situations, domestic regimes on anti-corruption vary from country to country. However, corruption crimes tend to go beyond boundaries under the trend of globalization. Many nations have been aware of that. They start to seek for international cooperation to cope with corruption. Then many international legal instruments on anti-corruption have come into force. The most influential one is the UNCAC. Since China joined the UNCAC, the world has witnessed Chinese improvement through reforming domestic anti-corruption regimes. But the regime is not complete and problems still exist, China needs to make continuous efforts to fight against corruption. Firstly, a comprehensive and deep understanding of the United Nation Convention against Corruption is necessary, which offers the background for this research. Then the thesis discusses the influences the UNCAC on China, as it is of great significance to take reference on international legal instruments. Furthermore, the thesis probes the Chinese anti-corruption status quo, mainly to seek out development in the legal instruments. Apart from the international movement against corruption, the research steps into the domestic anti-corruption regimes of some western countries that China may learn from. Then it explores the gap and the differences between the UNCAC and Chinese domestic anti-corruption regimes by comparing them. Eventually, in order to fight against corruption more effectively, the thesis discusses about how China improves the domestic anti-corruption systems and raises some relevant suggestions.
