The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation of children’s emotional competence development and their relationship of pet and sibling. The study recruited 313(3-6 years old) children from Macau and Guangzhou kindergartens. The ‘The Questionnaire of Child Emotional Development’, ‘The Pet Attitude Scale’ and ‘Sibling Relation Scale’ were used for measuring. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, T-test/ANOVA and correlation analysis. According to the results, the major findings were as follow: First, with the age growth, children’s emotional competence would develop as well. Second, Parents’ education level was relate to their child’s emotional competence develop. The higher level of parents’ education background, the better perform of their child’s emotional competence. Third, there was a positive relation between child’s emotional competence and pet relation. The closer relation to pets, the better develop of child’s emotional competence. However, no matter the child had a pet or not, the relationship still existed. Forth, the warm sibling relationship was positive relation to emotional competence while the competitive was negative. Siblings had a close relation could facilitate child emotional competence development. And the competitive relation could hinder the development. Based on the findings, some suggestions were made for kindergarten, parents, governmental organizations and further research.

本研究的主要目的是探討寵物關係、手足關係與兒童情緒能力之間的相 關。採用調查法，調查了澳門和廣州共 313 名 3-6 歲的幼兒。研究工具為「幼兒 情緒能力發展量表」、「寵物態度量表」和「手足關係量表」，將所得數據以 描述性統計、T 檢驗、ANOVA、相關分析等方法進行處理。根據分析結果，得 出以下結論： 隨著兒童年齡的增長，其情緒能力也在提高；父母的學歷程度與 兒童的情緒能力發展水準相關，父母的學歷程度越高，兒童的情緒能力發展越 好；兒童的情緒能力發展與寵物關係相關，且呈正相關。兒童與寵物關係越好， 其情緒能力發展越好，而且這跟是否有飼養寵物無關；兒童情緒能力發展與手 足的親密關係呈正相關，與競爭呈負相關。兒童與手足的關係越好，其情緒能 力發展越好，與手足之間競爭越激烈，其情緒能力發展越差。最後，根據研究 結果對幼稚園、父母、政府福利機構及未來研究方面提出建議。 關鍵詞： 寵物關係 手足關係 兒童情緒能力
