This paper attempt to explore how Abercrombie & Fitch Models manage bodily capital and perform emotional labor. Modeling is an occupation with strict body requirements and fierce job competition. Success as a model requires the careful management of bodily capital and the performance of emotional labor. This research examines these two concepts through the case study of Abercrombie & Fitch Models, and also drawing on non-participant observation and in-depth interviews with Abercrombie & Fitch Models in Hong Kong Central shop. Eventually, based on the particular work content of Abercrombie & Fitch Models, the research finds that they perform emotions to customers, to create fantasies to observers, and also find dignity through this humiliating job. Besides they manage their bodily capital by subjecting themselves to intense exercising and dieting.
