馬若瑟 "趙氏孤兒" 譯本研究 = A study on Joseph de Premare's "The Orphan of Zhao" translation

English Abstract

Joseph de Prémare Jesus(1666-1736), a missionary who came from France in Qing Dynasty. He lived in China for 40 years long, he concentrated on study Chinese Language and Chinese literature, he had translated many Chinese classic books. In which "The Orphan of Zhao" disseminated France with the French translation, opened the prologue which the Chinese and Western drama cultural exchange. The reason that he had translated this work with his thought, as well as at that time China and France's social background related. Those appraisal of "The Orphan of China" always based on Voltaire "Chinese Orphan" during these few hundreds years in Europe’s academic circles, those are still not too pay attention to Joseph de Prémare's academic contribution. This thesis focuses on the life of Joseph, his research works and dissemination process, and also make a deep comparion on the translations between Joseph and Julien’s "The Orphan of China". Through these research wish to find out the effect of eighteenth century Chinese and Western's drama exchanges. The author also hope that through this research, so that more people can see the contribution of Joseph de Prémare, his capabilities, supplementes some academic circles have not paid attention part.

清代來華耶穌會士馬若瑟在華四十年間,潛心研究學習漢語和中 國文學,他翻譯了諸多作品。其中用法文翻譯的《趙氏孤兒》傳播到 法國,揭開了中西戲劇交流的序幕,馬若瑟之所以翻譯此作品與他個 人的思想,以及當時中法的社會背景有關,過往對《趙氏孤兒》的評 價多基於伏爾泰的《中國孤兒》,學術界對馬若瑟的學術貢獻仍不太 注意,本論文通過對馬若瑟的生平;其《趙氏孤兒》譯本的研究及其 傳播過程;以及將馬氏譯本與其後的儒蓮的譯本進行比較,除探討十 八世紀中法的戲劇情況以及中西戲劇交流的影響外,更希望透過本研 究,看看馬若瑟的貢獻、漢語能力,以此為傳教士來華初的十八世紀, 補充一些學術界沒有留意的部份。
