With a focus on the lyrics of popular music in contemporary Taiwan and Hong Kong, this thesis discusses the relationship between lyrics creation and the classicality of popular songs. In view of the close relationship between lyrics and music in popular songs, musicology theory is applied for the purpose of studying the relationship between music and literature, and that between music, popularity and classicality in popular songs. Chapter Two discusses the classicality of popular songs, and identifies the five standards for being recognized as popular songs, which lays the foundation of this thesis. Within the framework of the history of popular songs,chapter Three and chapter Four analyze the internal mechanism of classicizing popular songs in Taiwan and Hong Kong in different periods, discuss the factors (both internal and external) that lead to the formation of the classicality of popular songs, and establish the theoretical framework of the classicizing mechanism. Chapter Five demonstrates the relationship between lyrics and music, as well as that between popularity and classicality in the process of classicizing popular songs and expounds the effects of lyrics. Last but not least, Chapter Five presents a summary of the findings and draws a conclusion. This thesis puts a new perspective and orientation of popular songs in the cultural context. It is an interdisciplinary research for it analyzes the different effects of lyrics and music in classicizing popular songs, which offers significant insights to this study field.

本文以當代臺港流行歌曲的歌詞為研究對象，嘗試探討當代臺港歌詞創作 與流行歌曲的經典性之內在關係。由於流行歌曲中歌詞和音樂的密切關係，為 探明此中心議題，本文也藉助音樂學的相關理論，對流行歌曲中音樂和文學的 關係、音樂與流行歌曲的流行性和經典性的關係等問題進行必要性的研究。 本文第二章中首先對流行歌曲之經典的存在進行理論辨析，而後提出認定 經典流行歌曲的五個標準，建立本文的邏輯性基礎。第三章、第四章在臺港流 行歌曲發展史的框架內，分別解析不同時期臺港流行歌曲經典化運作的內在機 理，探討臺港經典流行歌曲形成的內外原因，建立經典化運作的理論框架。第 五章論證在臺港流行歌曲經典化過程中歌詞和音樂的關係，以及流行性和經典 性的關係，闡述歌詞在臺港流行歌曲經典化運作中的作用。在結論中總結全文， 得出結論。 本文為流行歌曲的經典性進行了理論性正名，對流行歌曲的文化地位是新 的審視和定位，本文對流行歌曲的經典化運作中歌詞和音樂的不同作用的剖 析，是具有跨學科性質的研究。
