China-US-India future relations : competitive "Ménage a Trois"

English Abstract

This thesis emphasis the significance of China-US-India trilateral relationship and believes that correctly grasping the direction of the China-US-India trilateral relations and properly dealing with the trilateral relationship have a great importance of stabilizing the regional and global environment, which is beneficial to the sustainable development of the three countries and the whole world. The author generally elaborates the common interests and conflict of interest between the three countries and compares cooperation and competition of the three bilateral relationships in four areas of traditional security, trade, energy and high technology, trying to solve the problem that from the perspective of national interests, what kind of the China-US-India trilateral relationship is now and what it will be in the future. After the analysis of current situation of China-US-India relation, the thesis speculates that any of the three countries will not be the overwhelmingly dominant power in the Asia-Pacific and the interests of the three countries will be shared and optimized through the competition; and the relationship of the three parties will constantly develop under the extensive cooperation.
