Many countries benefit from space activities. Since Soviet Union launch the Sputnik-1 in the year 1957,over 8000 satellites have been launched till today for a variety of application like communication, navigation, weather forecasting, Earth observation, scientific and military services. Both civil and military uses in satellite affect everyone's life. China, as a strong emerging power is looking for a new way to enhance its status. The successful launch of Shenzhou 9 announced that China is more activated in the space area. The motivation for a country to develop the space program most driven by the national interests. That includes national security and national prestige. China's development of space program driven both by national security and national prestige. China's rise in space is an example of the emerging power in space. With the traditional powers e.g. United States and Russia still want to dominate the space and emerging powers e.g. China, India want to catch up in space area. These activities made the space environment changed after the end of Cold War. The new environment be characterized to three "C's" it is increasingly contested, congested and competitive. The purpose of this research is to analyze the evolution of China's exploration and military space effort and compare with potential opponents' space strategy to identify the appropriate strategy for China's future exploration and military strategy in space.
