Title

A legal study of casino credit

English Abstract

Abstract This study provides a whole course analysis of casino credit and collection. It starts from the concept of casino credit, discussing its important role in casino business, and public policy towards it. Then a contractual analysis is given out: credit extending contract is like a loan contract or a purchase and sale contract, and it could generate civil obligations. After that, the study examines the process of credit granting and collection both in Nevada casinos and in Macau VIP rooms. It goes on to talk about court defenses towards credit collection, including a special discussion on problem gambling and self-exclusion program. At last, the situation of casino credit collection among various jurisdictions is introduced, with a conclusion followed. Jurisdictions that have enjoyed the benefits of credit play seem more willing to develop this facility, however, this figure is still quite small up to now.
