This thesis attempts to investigate the allegoric quality of ancient Chinese prose based on HanYu' s E'YuWen. Han Yu is an ideologist and literateur of Tang Dynasty in China. He has greatly impacted on Chinese literature. His life is full of frustrations, while his official career is full of promotions and demotions. It is a shock to offer a sacrifice to the crocodile in ChaoZhou after he was demoted for submitting LunFoGuBiao to the emperor. And he writes E'YuWen which is deputed, The action of making a sacrifice to the crocodile and driving them out does not have high reliability, while the great effort he does is unquestionable. HanYu does in ChaoZhou as ChaoZhou does, He makes full use of ChaoZhou's custom of believing in ghosts and gods and write E'YuWen which expresses his inner feelings and on which placing his political idea. In Han's article, crocodile is the imagery of opposite power in the government. Also, he felt sorrow for his wasted talent on a politics. Han express indirectly. HanYu’s E'YuWen is an article shares height allegoric quality like just treating writing as fun, E’ YuWen does not attach importance to the reliability of the story comparing to expressing inner feelings. The ghosts and gods in HanYu's story is his own embodiment. It is a way he consoles himself.

本文以韓愈〈鱷魚文〉爲例，探索中國古代散文寓言性的問题。 韓愈是唐代重要的思想家、文學家，他對中國文學的影響甚大。韓愈的一生坎坷不平，仕途生活起起落落。韓愈因〈論佛骨表〉被貶潮州，韓愈至潮，做了一件轟動人心的事---祭鱷魚，並寫下了常被議論的〈鱷魚文〉。韓愈祭鱷、驅鱷一事的可信度並不大，但是他對潮州貢獻卻是無疑地。 韓愈入鄉随俗，他利用了潮人信鬼神的習慣，寫〈鱷魚文〉來抒自己的内心世界，寄託他自己的政治抱負。韓愈借惡溪的鱷魚來比喻當時的恶勢力，爲自己的才能得不到施展而嗚不平。他感慨懐才不遇的苦悶，他感慨大才小用的遺憾。韓愈寫〈鱷魚文〉也是在抒發自己内心的苦悶，他並不是直接抒出来的，而是間接的。 韓愈的〈鱷魚文〉是一篇“以文爲戲”的寓言性作品。〈鱷魚文〉中並不重視故事的的真實性，作者所重視的是寄託作者的内心世界。韓愈筆下的鬼神是他自己的化身，一種自我安慰的方法。
