Title

Smart card based electronic ticket management system

English Abstract

The concept of electronic ticket is an abstraction of customer rights or services purchased. It is presented as the certification of ownership, which can be issued over the Internet from seller to buyer in the electronic marketplace. It is presented to prove the authorization when the traded service is being accessed. Online delivery is a new type of demanded service of E-Commerce, which requires secure communication among merchant, customers and service providers. The thesis focuses on the issues for handling online ticket delivery and electronic ticket management. The Electronic Ticket Management System framework is proposed with secure communication protocols that deal with ticket issuance, transference and consumption by using cryptography. In addition, the general ticket structure applicable for various E-Commerce applications is proposed, which is expansible by optional headers of the electronic ticket. Smart card technology has been adopted as the media of electronic ticket, which guarantees the atomicity of transactions in the framework and prevents duplication or forgery. Finally, the thesis provides the detail design of electronic ticket in Java Card and the prototype implementation results. Keywords: electronic ticket, E-Commerce, network security, smart card.
