Abstract
Abstract : This research is intended to reveal the real attractiveness as well as the shortcomings of Macao as a tourist destination from a visitor's perspective. It examines the relationship between tourist destination image and tourists' overall perceptions towards 16 hallmark events simultaneously. Meanwhile, it explores the role of hallmark events in shaping destination image and stimultaing destination loyalty. The findings reveal the appeal of hallmark events and demonstrate the positive links among the four variables: event perception, cognitive destination image, affective destination image and destination loyalty. The research result proves the potential and attractions of events in bettering destination images, which sheds the light on the significance of promoting event tourism and diversifying tourism products in Macao.
