Abstract
Abstract : Toni Morrison's tenth novel Home is short but profound in meaning. Although the main character is a Black young man, some Black female characters in the story are equally interesting and complicated. In light of theory of Black Feminism, this paper studies three important female characters-Lily, Lenore and Cee. By discussing their experiences, the paper reveals the oppression from the white and patriarchal society on the Black American women, and also explains their different approaches in search of a home. It argues that the only home that Black women can truly acquire exists within the women-centered community. Paragraph Headings: 1. Black feminism 2. Lily's denial of black identity 3. Lenore's refusal of friends 4. Cee and a lack of education 5. Collective power from the community 6. Conclusion
