Abstract
Objective: This study was undertaken to investigate a possible link between bacterial vaginosis (BV) and common sexually transmitted disease (STD)-associated pathogens, consisting of Mycoplasma hominis (MH), Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), N. gonor hoeae (NG), Candia (CD) and Trichomonas vaginalis patients with BVwere selected according to Amsel's criteria. 177 healthy women were enrolled as the normal control group. (2) Cervicovaginal discharge samples collected from these women were used in this study to determine MH, CT, NG, CD and TV. (3)Statistical analysis was performed by SAS 6.11 software. Results (1) The positive rate of MH in BV patients was 34%, higher than that of control group obviously, which result in a statistically significant difference (P<0.01). (2) The positive rate of CT was 4%, NG was 1%, CD was 5% and TV was 2%. There was no statistical difference with that of control group (P>0.05). Conclusion (1) Our study indicate that 1.MH had significant with BV and might be one of the pathogenic factors. (2) CT, NG, CD and TV had no relationship with BV, and might be one of the pathogenic factors. (2) CT, NG, CD and TV had no relationship with BV, and were not the main cause of BV, and were not the main cause of BV. (3) The structure of common STD-associated pathogenic microorganisms in BV patients in Shenyang, China was MH 34%, CT 4%, NG 1%,CD 5%,TV 2%,MH+CD 3%,MH+TV 1% and MH+CT+CD 1%. Paragraph Headings: 1.
