- Abstract
- Abstract : Neonatal hyperparathyroidism is a rare disorder, symptoms develop shortly after birth, can result in severe life-threatening complications if left untreated. We reported a case of primary neonatal hyperparathyroidism in a pediatric hospital when we studied in Portugal. A 12-days-old female infant presents with general hypotony, anorexia, hypercalcemia and multiple bone fracture. The diagnosis was confirmed by elevation of parathyroid hormone and MRI. Twice operations were done to remove nearly all parathyroid gland. The infant’s fragile bone makes each intubation difficult and full of challenge. We bring out the issue of safety anesthesia on a primary neonatal hyperparathyroidism. Paragraph Headings: 1. Introduction 2. Case 3. Discussion 4. Conclusion
