- Abstract
- Abstract : Guillain-Barre syndrome is a group of immune mediated pathological process, involving the motor, sensory, and even the autonomic nervous system. The classical form of Guillain-Barre syndrome is presented with progressive symmetrical ascending muscle weakness, which may accompany with sensory or autonomic dysfunction. Respiratory failure, blood pressure fluctuations and dysrhythmias are not uncommon, and may indicate the patients to intensive care in severe cases. Here report a case of Guillain-Barre syndrome with cranial involvement, presented with hemodynamic fluctuation, comatose change and required mechanical ventilation. His consciousness and respiratory function recovered well after the intravenous immunoglobulin, plasma exchange and conservative treatments. Early and continuous physiotherapy is always necessary, especially for those with prolonged complication of limbs paralysis. Paragraph Headings: 1. Introduction 2. Case presentation 3. Discussion
